This is the privacy policy for EasySet-Web Ontico GSM device mobile management tool.
Where we refer to "personal data" or "personal information" in this privacy policy we mean any data that may identify
you as an individual.
Protecting your personal data and maintaining your trust is core to our mission at Ontico.
While using our application, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information (e.g.
phone number) that will not be used to contact or identify you. This information will be used for service specific
actions only (e.g. calling remote device phone number).
All personal data like user names, passwords and emails are used for authentication purposes only.
We will not sell your personal data to third parties.
If you wish your personally identifiable data removed, please contact us.
android.permission.CAMERA
Used for scanning our device data matrix code with purpose of simplifying filling out required fields when adding new device. You don’t have to permit the permission but you will have to fill out device IMEI code manually by typing it.
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and
android.permission.INTERNET
Main requirement of the application. Without internet connection, application will not be able to communicate with our backend system.
android.permission.READ_CONTACTS
Used for any field that requires you to enter phone number (Caller ID #, Administrator phone number, Intercom button
fields, etc).
Instead of typing phone number manually you can just simply pick it from your stored contacts on your android
device.
Application doesn’t collect any other information from your contact list than this.
android.permission.SEND_SMS
Used for manipulating remote device direct controls (outputs).
Application is using your own SMS messaging system to activate/deactivate outputs on your remote GSM device.
For each output action (e.g. button ON click) your android device sends one SMS to remote GSM device.
Please be advised that additional charges may apply in this case so please inquire with your GSM service provider
about SMS prices
android.permission.WAKE_LOCK
Used for keeping send/read operation running when your android device screen is locked/off.
Sometimes device operation can be time consuming (15 minutes and more) for example when you’re downloading 20000
events from remote device.
By this permission android device is able to complete “long running” operation and notify you when its completed even
if you have your handset screen turned off or locked.
Without this permission, application would be broken.
